A recent survey by photobook manufacturer Shutterfly found that 22% of brides surveyed regretted not spending more on their wedding photographs. Interestingly the results also showed that brides felt that they:
‘Should’ve spent less on the dress; more on the memories. Directly survey respondents married within 12 months prior to the survey, 28 percent felt they didn’t spend enough money on the honeymoon; 22 percent felt the same about the photographer. 19 percent of the same sample reported spending too much on the bridal gown and food.’
Unfortunately for those surveyed the realisation that their wedding photography is one of the few things that last a lifetime came too late. Good contemporary wedding photography captures far more than just the key moments and the old family line ups! Your photos will capture much of the day that you as a couple don’t get to see, those small precious moments of family and friends enjoying your day and the emotion and atmosphere of your wedding day.
I aim for everyone of my wedding photos to tell a story and the many couples whose weddings I’ve photographed love the moments I capture and thankful they invested in good wedding photography.
