St Elizabeth’s House Spring wedding
I was so looking forward to this Spring wedding at St Elizabth’s House Hotel in Plympton, Devon. Julia & Chalie were such a lovely couple and their engagement session at Bigbury beach last Summer was amazing.
Julia and Charlie had planned to get married in the same parish church in Plympton St Maurice her parents married in. I loved the personal and touching significance of this church. The wedding ceremony was beautiful and moving! I love photographing couples during the wedding ceremony. Watching the loving looks between them, their smiles and that sparkle in their eyes.
Following the signing of the registry and the church exit we captured a few shots outside before the confetti throw. As a documentary wedding photographer I love these action moments.
we all headed to the nearby St Elizabeth’s House for the wedding reception. St Elizabeth’s is a beautiful boutique wedding venue nestling in it’s own grounds. it is a real gem tucked away on the edge of the city of Plymouth.
The decoration of the wedding reception room reflected the bride’s love of everything Harry Potter. The table centres were Harry Potter books stacked on top with gold bottles. One of the best touches were the hand made favours to look like the golden snitches. The sunflower decorated wedding cake looked fabulous too.
The bride’s father started off the speeches well with a virtuoso performance and plenty of laughter all round. After the wedding breakfast we made the most of the failing Spring weather for some couple photos in the grounds of the house. The garden pavilion and lawns offer a great setting with a wonderful open sky. The smaller flower gardens also provide a beautiful setting and backdrop for photos.
As the rain set in it was time for the party to start. I loved every minute of this special day.
Thank you Julia & Charlie for allowing me to document and share your special wedding at St Elizabeth’s House.
