Pendennis Castle wedding – photos of beautiful Cornish sunshine filled wedding day
Wow – what can I say! The weather for Katie & Dave’s Pendennis Castle wedding in Cornwall was absolutely glorious. On the drive to Falmouth I was excited by the prospect of clear blue skies and fabulous sunshine for the day ahead.
Katie was so chilled out when I arrived and enjoying being pampered. What a contrast to the guys getting ready nearby! Frantic last minute preparations, checking the rings were safe and accounted for, deciding on the placement of the buttonholes and ensuring the speeches for later were to hand and safely tucked inside their jackets!
The arrival of the VW camper vans were eagerly awaited and the open top feature was much loved. With the guys headed off to Pendennis Castle, I shot a few more finishing frames of the bride and her bridesmaids.
The castle itself looked stunning and the atmospheric low lighting for the ceremony added to the drama. Katie entered the ceremony to the lovely sounds of a harpist and I just loved capturing the moment her and Dave caught each others eye – that look of love is hard to beat!
The ceremony was beautiful and romantic and drinks were taken on the walled terrace outside the fort with some amazing sea views. After drinks an some formal photos all the guests headed over the the Guards Barrack for the reception. The newly married couple spent a few quiet moments on their own at the castle which gave me a good opportunity to capture some lovely shots of them.
The reception and speeches went down a storm with a Spanish theme to the wedding breakfast. The first dance was eagerly awaited and I know that Dave was trying to recall the steps from the dance lessons! He had nothing to worry about and managed to carry it off successfully.
The band was excellent and just before midnight and carriages everyone headed outside for a sparkler guard of honor to send the happy couple on their way.
What an amazing day and a real honour to share their Pendennis Castle wedding day with the lovely couple. I’m sure this small selection of photos from the day confirm this.
