Melissa & Alex’s Cornish wedding at Mount Edgcumbe
Congratulations to the lovely Melissa & Alex on their fabulous wedding at Mount Edgcumbe. It was a beautiful Summer day for a wedding and the riverside location of the Mount Edgcumbe Orangery was perfect for the occasion.
I’d met the fun couple and their very cute daughter for their pre-wedding session earlier in the year. Discussing their plans for the wedding day, I was expecting a great day. it was all go when I arrived at the China Fleet Country Club to document Melissa and the girls getting ready for the day. The fizz was flowing, Melissa looked stunning and the rooms were full of excitement. her wedding dress looked fab and her luxury Sophie Webster butterfly wedding shoes were a real treat. Leaving Melissa and the bridesmaids to finish off I headed to St Germans church to see how the groom was doing.
The church of St Germanus in the village of St Germans in south-east Cornwall is one of the finest, oldest and historic parish churches in the county, and one of the oldest buildings still in use for its original purpose. It really is one of the most stunning churches for weddings in Cornwall. The west doorway makes for a fantastic backdrop for the newly couple to exit. Alex and his best man and ushers were making final adjustments to the decoration for the church as the wedding guests and family started to arrive.
The ceremony was lovely and a stunning solo sang by one of the guests filled the church interior during the signing of the register. On cue it started to rain as the newly weds left the church and is always great for some documentary photos! The couple headed off to the reception at the Orangery at Mount Edgcumbe in the Rolls Royce wedding car.
The Orangery is a wonderful reception space and Melissa and Alex had styled it in such a beautiful way. The rain had missed Mount Edgcumbe and everyone made the most of the sunshine and the beautiful gardens. Melissa & Alex had an amazing cake and sweet table provided by Simply Celebrate Wedding and Party Hire. The colours were beautiful and looked amazing. The delicious wedding breakfast was followed by some entertaining speeches and the first dance as the sun started to set.
The wedding couple and I headed out to the gardens alongside the water for some stunning photographs with Plymouth Sound and the Royal William Yard in the background before heading back to the party which was in full flow.
Thank you Melissa & Alex for allowing me to document and share your special wedding at Mount Edgcumbe.
